Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman
dir. Clint Eastwood, 2004, Color.
After all the awards, I had to see this movie.
I was ready for a thought-provoking cinematic experience and luckily, I was able to obtain a screener from my neighborhood bodega.
The movie started off in a rather intriguing manner and the images were rich and colorful.
Special effects were well done. I was, however, surprised at the amount of excessive gore and I hadn't realized Jennifer Tilly was in the movie.
Nearly an hour into the film, I was still waiting for my first glimpse of Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman, or any scene dealing with boxing. Additionally, I was under the impression that this was an American film.
It all made sense when I realized I was actually watching a Japanese bootleg of "Seed of Chucky" by mistake. I knew the homicidal dolls seemed out of place.
Denzel Washington delivers his best performance to date.
